Box Layout
Below is information on the VARA GoBox (Shack-in-a-Box). The Sherwood T-2000 radio and the SEC-1223 Power Supply were already owned by the VARA Club and the rest of the equipment was purchased by VARA. There are two power outlets in the upper left front corner, one 12V PowerPoles and one USB-A and USB-C. On the back are the HF and VHF antenna connections as well as inputs for a battery supply and a solar panel to charge the battery. The unit is Winlink capable with the SignalLink USB Interface. A condensed instruction manual has been created as this radio is very capable with a lot of buttons, but for normal usage only a few are needed. There are also some nuances that are in the manual that will make it easier to run during Field Day or contests. Included is also a Nifty Accessories manual for those who want to delve deeper into the radio’s functionality. The box was built by Norm D’Allura KN4YFI. To borrow the box, contact any VARA officer.
